Large enterprises – generally those with more than 5,000 employees – need an archiving solution for emails, files, and SharePoint content that will meet a very stringent set of requirements. Mimosa’s Multi-Node Grid Architecture was built to address these requirements. It is the most scalable architecture in the Exchange, SharePoint and file system archiving industry and is provided standard in the NearPoint solution. Utilizing a superscalar or superpipelined grid, the NearPoint archive can support systems ranging from 100 users to hundreds of thousands of users in a single solution.
This hot-plug modular architecture dynamically supports server and storage scalability as required to match performance challenges, without breaking the logical consistency of the archive information − an important capability for eDiscovery. Archive storage capacity grows on-demand automatically, and wizard-driven menus simplify deployment and management. This grid architecture provides both scalability and flexibility for IT managers. The solution provides a single point of management for the NearPoint system – saving significant IT man-hours. Archive servers can be added (or removed) as needed and nodes and services tunable to a dynamic workload that can change daily from email archiving, PST ingestion or eDiscovery search across thousands of custodians.
