MIMOSA SYSTEMS AND CONTOURAL PRESENT
"BULLET-PROOF EDISCOVERY" SEMINAR SERIES

Joint Seminar with Microsoft Defines Technology Solutions and Best Practices to Comply with New Federal Guidelines for Email

Santa Clara, Calif. - October 11, 2006 - Mimosa SystemsT, a leader in unified information management solutions for enterprise content, today announced a bi-coastal seminar tour with Microsoft Corp. and Contoural that will present best practices, tools and techniques for eDiscovery. The multi-city seminar series will visit San Francisco, Washington D.C., New York and Chicago with industry experts ready to unravel new regulations and demonstrate ways that companies can prepare to meet the Federal guidelines for electronic evidence discovery that will take effect on December 1, 2006.

"Surveys have shown that up to 50% of corporate respondents have been involved in a legal dispute involving email," said Mark Diamond, CEO and founder, Contoural, Inc. and leading electronic discovery expert. "If your organization has not been asked to search email, chances are that it will. Until now, the rules defining electronic discovery procedures were vague and open to interpretation. This is all about to change on December 1, 2006 when the new Federal Rules of Civil Procedure take effect. For organizations that continue to rely on simple search tools, and cannot produce all relevant emails in a timely fashion, the results can be costly - with compensatory and punitive damages reaching millions of dollars."

The seminar series, entitled "Bullet-Proof eDiscovery: Technology Solutions that Help New Federal Guidelines for Email," is designed to inform both IT and legal decision-makers with strategies and technology solutions that will help their organizations meet these new regulations.

Seminars will include the following presentations by leading electronic discovery experts:

  • Unraveling Email Discovery: Real-world Best Practices for Litigation Readiness: Electronic discovery expert, Mark Diamond, will share real-world experiences and the business drivers impacting the discovery of e-mail, including compliance, privacy, discovery, end-user needs and costs. This presentation will discuss how to create defensible yet executable policies, and potential pitfalls and how to avoid them.
  • Unified Email Data Management: eDiscovery, Archival, Recovery and Storage Management: Mike Ivanov, vice president of product marketing, Mimosa Systems will demonstrate Mimosa NearPoint for Microsoft Exchange Server, a unified data management solution that integrates immediate archival, eDiscovery, recovery, and storage management in a single solution.
  • Technical Case Study: This session will provide real-life examples of how Mimosa customers have implemented NearPoint to effectively manage archiving, recovery and storage management. Case studies will include examples from a variety of industries and sizes.
