Peachtree ENABLES BUSINESS CONTINUITY WITH Mimosa nearpoint

Mimosa NearPoint Assures the Protection, Retention and Recovery of
Specialty Risk Insurance Firm’s Critical Email Business Records

Santa Clara , Calif. – September 19, 2006 – Mimosa Systems™, a leader in unified information management solutions for enterprise content, today announced that Peachtree Special Risk Brokers LLC, a specialty insurance intermediary that markets insurance for high risk commercial properties, has chosen the Mimosa NearPoint™ for Microsoft® Exchange Server solution for email archiving, disaster recovery and data protection. Using Mimosa NearPoint and the NearPoint Disaster Recovery Option, Peachtree ensures retention policy for compliance and rapid disaster recovery for its critical email business records.

Peachtree is a fully-owned subsidiary of Brown & Brown Insurance, a large nationwide intermediary and public company, with brokers and staff throughout its corporate office in Stockbridge, Ga. and six regional brokerage offices. Email records are a critical component of Peachtree’s business and frequently contain large attachments, including insurance policies, binders and pictures of commercial property. This has been known to create emails as large as 50MB which has generated a significant Exchange storage management challenge. As part of a public company, Peachtree is required to meet Sarbanes-Oxley compliance regulations that call for a seven year retention of all email data which compounded the firm’s storage management challenges. Because Peachtree’s business requires immediate access to email data, offline email archiving was not an option. This caused the specialty insurance firm to seek out a solution that not only helps with compliance but also with disaster recovery and storage management.

Peachtree has a very sophisticated disaster recovery plan in place that was driven by the nature of its business and the risks imposed by the geographical location of its offices. “Our service levels require a four hour recovery time for the Exchange databases,” said Kinahan. “Using NearPoint I can restore any Exchange database file quickly from disk, easily meeting my service level requirements.
