NETWORK WORLD RECOGNIZES MIMOSA SYSTEMS NEARPOINT
AS TOP 10 PRODUCT
FOR NEXT-GENERATION DATACENTERS
Santa Clara, Calif. - February 26, 2007 - Mimosa SystemsT, a leader in unified information management solutions for enterprise content, today announced that Network World magazine has chosen its NearPointT for Microsoft® Exchange Server live content archiving solution as one of the 10 best solutions for next generation datacenters. The fourth-annual Network World New Data Center series highlights the top trends, products and practices that are creating the New Data Center.
Recognition by Network World is the latest in a growing list of honors for Mimosa, which recently received two Gold Awards for NearPoint in TechTarget's SearchExchange Product of the Year competition, and was named one of five "Storage Standouts" and a Top 75 Emerging Vendor by CRN magazine.
Mimosa NearPoint addresses critical customer requirements around email information archiving, eDiscovery, regulatory compliance, data protection, disaster recovery and storage optimization. The solution provides immediate mailbox and message recovery, disaster recovery, email archiving, and self-service search and access in one solution.
According to Network World editors, "Continuous data-protection products, which perform live data backups without affecting performance, and archive the data so it's easy to retrieve, have become a New Data Center staple. NearPoint uses an agentless technology called transaction log-shipping to capture every e-mail, document and file in an Exchange system. Self-service features let users retrieve e-mail without IT intervention."
"We looked at several archiving products, and Mimosa was ahead of the game," stated Andrew Gahm, network architect for IS at Virtua Health in Marlton, N.J., quoted within the Network World article. "Everyone else was using journaling for archiving, which isn't the most effective way to archive your e-mail because it misses so much. Mimosa's log-shipping captures every bit of detail that's in your e-mail, without impacting your Exchange server."
Mimosa NearPoint is a solution for archiving, consolidation and access to historical content based on a next-generation architecture that is designed to support multiple content types; has zero impact on production systems; provides ease of installation and use; and delivers unprecedented scalability based on a grid architecture consisting of commodity servers. Self-service search and access provides users with fingertip access to information over a history of time - empowering users, legal and security stakeholders to be more productive and reducing overall operational costs.
"Recognition by Network World as a key technology for next-generation data centers further validates Mimosa's architecture for live content archiving and supporting our customers' needs to effectively manage, consolidate and get visibility to content - intelligently, easily and cost-effectively," said Mike Ivanov, vice president of product marketing, Mimosa Systems. "By including our NearPoint next generation architecture on its Top 10 list, Network World has highlighted the increasingly critical role that archiving, eDiscovery and intelligent search plays in managing the exploding unstructured information for the enterprise."
