Arnold Worldwide Entrusts Its Critical Data and Creative IP to Mimosa NearPoint Email Archiving Solution Stored on Compellent Storage Center

Leading Global Advertising Agency Archives Vital Business Data for Mixed PC and Mac Enterprise Using a Combined Solution from Mimosa and Compellent

Santa Clara, Calif .– February 17, 2009 — Mimosa Systems, a leader in next-generation email and file archiving solutions, today announced that the global advertising agency, Arnold Worldwide has deployed the Mimosa NearPoint™ archiving solution stored on Compellent’s Storage Center™ storage area networks (SAN) to protect and archive emails and attachments in its mixed PC and Mac enterprise.

Arnold Worldwide is owned by Havas (Euronext Paris: HAV.PA) and represents one of the lead agencies in the system, with three fully integrated service offices in the U.S.: Boston, New York and Washington, D.C. Arnold’s client roster includes many Fortune 500 brands like truth(R), Amtrak, McDonald's, Fidelity Investments, Hershey's, RadioShack and Jack Daniel’s. Attributing its success to the expertise of its people, Arnold prides itself on creative solutions. Its IT infrastructure is no exception. It boasts a virtualized server and storage enterprise that supports core applications including Adobe Creative Suite 3, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 for an equal mix of Microsoft Windows PCs and Macintosh OS X computers.

As a fast-moving organization, Arnold finds that email is often the most vital application it uses. Email has become the primary method for communicating both internally between account team members, and externally with clients and vendors. It is also frequently used to send large file transfers for creative campaigns and designs. As a result, Arnold’s IT organization needed a reliable solution to ensure protection and archiving of email content so that critical data wouldn’t be put at risk of data loss and to ensure that key data, such as contracts or creative intellectual property, could be recovered if needed. Arnold chose to implement the Mimosa NearPoint email archiving solution with archived data stored on two Compellent SANs, one in its Boston headquarters and a second in its New York office.

“We have had lots of success with the Mimosa NearPoint archiving solution,” said Greg Folsom, senior vice president of information technology, Arnold Worldwide. “It’s both easy-to-use and flexible. But even more importantly, we can now easily go back to emails that are a year old to research contract information or find missing files. On occasion, this has saved us big money as we located key details of a contract agreement that was stored in a former employee’s email.”

Features of Mimosa NearPoint that are important to Arnold Worldwide include:

“Mimosa NearPoint is a powerful solution for the comprehensive protection of email data, even for mixed PC and Mac environments like Arnold’s that email large files,” said Scott Whitney, vice president of product marketing, Mimosa Systems. “When combined with Compellent SANs, NearPoint delivers the reliable content archiving companies of all sizes need for information immediacy, discovery and continuity.”

To assure data protection and disaster preparedness, Arnold retains its archived email data in its Boston-based Compellent SAN, which is replicated to the New York office.
“We needed to improve business continuity while keeping capital and operating expenditures low,” added Folsom. “We unanimously selected the Compellent SAN for its ease-of-use, performance, scalability and inherent virtualization capabilities. The Compellent SAN integrates seamlessly with our server virtualization platform, immediately reducing the complexity of our data center. We gained a level of control over our data we were previously lacking, and adopted an ironclad disaster recovery program.”

“Together, Mimosa NearPoint and the Compellent SAN deliver one of the most efficient and scalable environments for content archiving,” said Bruce Kornfeld, vice president of marketing, Compellent. “For Arnold, this powerful combination has resulted in a high-performance, easy-to-manage environment for the protection of its mission-critical creative files and business information.”
