Senior Software Engineer – Full Text Indexing and Enterprise Search

Job Description
This individual will work in a small and high-powered technical team that is responsible for the document metadata and content indexing and enterprise search subsystems of the Mimosa enterprise class software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, integration, delivery and evolution of the document metadata and content indexing and enterprise search subsystem of the Mimosa products
• Work closely with product management, customer support, other Development teams and SQA to continuously evolve and improve the enterprise class indexing and search infrastructure of the Mimosa products
• Ensure accurate, robust, fast, securely accessible, highly available, and highly scalable indexing and search infrastructure meets or exceeds customer and end-user expectations

Professional Background - Required

• Deep experience with designing and developing enterprise search (covering variety of information types, data sources, metadata extraction, data and metadata management, indexing, search and workflow management) and database-driven applications
• Strong understanding of full-text indexing and search concepts and advanced search techniques, with practical experience designing and developing highly scalable and high performance indexing and search infrastructure as well as search intensive applications
• Experience with developing applications with at least one of the leading commercially available search engines (such as FAST, Google, Autonomy, Verity, DTSearch, etc.)
• Experience with developing search applications involving UIMA, semantic analysis and indexing, machine learning, data mining, OLAP, natural language processing, and other techniques for collection, organization, classification and searching of unstructured and semi-structured information
• Significant experience delivering enterprise class software solutions in one or more of the following areas: enterprise search and classification, enterprise messaging, workflow and collaboration, document management, enterprise content management, or enterprise data management
• Strong understanding of robustness, usability, scalability and performance
• Deep and current skills in Microsoft C++ and C#
• Significant experience in designing and developing multi-tier enterprise class Windows and .NET applications, with special emphasis on the middle tier and backend development
• Some startup background or from a company with aggressive “small company” culture
• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Experience with high availability solutions
• Experience with policy-based content classification and categorization
• Experience with implementing solutions for regulatory compliance
• Experience with highly scalable and high performance databases, with schema design and SQL programming experience
• Experience with high throughput, high capacity, and extremely scalable data and metadata management systems managing many terabytes of data
• Experience with data security, encryption and access control mechanisms
• Experience with manageability, monitoring and diagnostics
