Senior QA Engineer-I

This individual will be responsible for understanding the Mimosa product functionality to design and subsequently execute a test plan that will include testing large scale server applications for email, documents and databases. A programmer, but QA engineer by nature, who possesses excellent technical and analytical skills will participate in activities such as architecture reviews, code and implementation analysis, and hardware and software interoperability.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Development in testing the product written in C/C++ and C#.
• Understand intricacies of the product implementation and use that knowledge to devise and execute excruciating test cases to make the product solid.
• Conduct product architecture reviews, analysis and tests.
• Isolate, investigate and report defects using the defect tracking system.
• Work closely with management to provide timely updates on the state of the product.

Skills:

Required:

• Experience in programming using C, C++ and C#.
• 5+ years of relevant Software Quality Assurance experience testing large scale server applications.
• Experience in testing file systems.
• Experience working closely with development to understand intrinsic product details.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Ability to optimize QA resources by distilling key ‘glass jaws' in the product requirements and implementations, and then focus QA resources at these ‘high ROI' areas.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Desired:

• Good understanding of operating systems such as Windows Server 2000, Windows Server 2003, and Active Directory.
• Understanding of email servers such as Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003.
• Experience working with mail protocols such as SMTP, POP3 and MAPI.
• Some background in backup or replication applications, and the handling of dense data.
• Ability to review SQL Database schemas and spot design problems and/or provide optimization suggestions.
• Good communication skills.
