Senior Database Engineer Career Information
Job Description
This individual is the hands-on principal designer and developer (i.e. coder and not DBA)
of the Database subsystem of the Mimosa NearPoint product.
Required Experience
- 10+ years developing C++ and/or C# database-driven applications, preferably for
SQL Server, with low-latency accesses and dense data hosting requirements.
- Strong background in designing and developing enterprise class applications with
focus on database performance, scalability and high availability.
- Experience implementing clustering and replication are also a must.
Required Skills
- C++, C# and SQL Server stored procedures, .NET, COM/ADO, XML-based data
import/export, and excellent database schema design.
- Strong problem solving, high creativity, and the ability to discuss advanced
technical concepts at an abstract technical level.
- Experience with database performance analysis and tuning (database physical
tuning, logical table/index tuning, query tuning and optimization of application
code for high throughput and high capacity databases).
- Implemention of search and mining applications on semi-structured data using
advanced semantic indexing techniques, OLAP and natural language processing
techniques, is a plus.
