Sr QA Architect
Role:
This individual will serve as the hands-on lead of a small and high-powered technical team that is responsible for product quality. The product architecture is unique in its ability to function non-stop under a variety of failure modes and seamlessly upgrade without service disruption. This individual will gain experience in ensuring high standards of quality for enterprise class applications with cutting edge concepts such as hot code-load, remote diagnostics, and pipelined grids.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the architecture, design, development, delivery and evolution of the overall quality infrastructure for the Mimosa products such that the products meets highest levels of enterprise class quality standards
- Drive the architecture, design, development, integration, deliver and evolution of the scalability and performance metrics, manageability, ease of use and upgrade.
- Work closely with product management, customer support, other engineering teams continuously evolve and improve the software quality of the Mimosa products
- Maintain efficient and effective communication and collaboration with other engineering teams and SQA to manage dependencies and deliverables between various groups and to ensure end to end integration and quality
- Ensure robust, safe, securely accessible, highly available and highly scalable software product meets or exceeds customer and end-user expectations
- Technical co-ordination of offshore and onshore development and SQA teams
- Participate in the problem resolution triages within engineering and for escalated customer cases on a regular basis
Professional Background – Required:
- It is imperative to have deep and current skills in software quality assurance and measurement for complex, highly scalable enterprise class software products.
- Very deep knowledge of Win32 operating system and a deep understanding of the implementation and performance characteristics of the underlying Windows platform.
- Advanced knowledge of testing database applications which are multi threaded and implement complex algorithms.
- Understanding of the Windows I/O stack and the ability to measure and monitor performance characteristics, throughput and hardware utilization.
- Understanding of advanced techniques for measuring and tuning for highest performance such as time-based and frequency-based profiling, and the utilization of profile-guided optimizations.
- Experience with building infrastructure for automated testing of three tier applications
- Significant experience with quality control of enterprise class solutions in one or more of the following areas – enterprise messaging, workflow and collaboration, document management, enterprise content management, enterprise data management, distributed systems or grid computing
- Strong understanding of robustness, usability, scalability and performance
- Some startup background or from a company with aggressive “small company” culture
- Experience leading a team of 5+ senior SQA Engineers
- 10+ years of professional software quality experience
Professional Background – Desirable
- Experience with storage management, availability, clustering, backup/recovery, and replication technologies
- Experience with software deployment and online software upgrade infrastructure
- Experience with records management
- Experience with implementing solutions for regulatory compliance
- Experience with highly scalable and high performance databases
- Experience with high throughput and high capacity and extremely scalable data and metadata management systems managing many terabytes of data
- Experience with OLTP and OLAP
- Experience with data security, encryption and access control mechanisms
- Experience with manageability, monitoring and diagnostics
